学校门口有家小店，你想买点儿喝的吗？
Xué xiào mén kǒu yǒu jiā xiǎo diàn, nǐ xiǎng mǎi diǎnr hē de ma?
There is a small shop at the school entrance. Do you want to buy something to drink?

我想喝咖啡，但是那家店离学校有点儿远。
Wǒ xiǎng hē kā fēi, dàn shì nà jiā diàn lí xué xiào yǒu diǎnr yuǎn.
I want coffee, but that shop is a little far from school.
小林
咖啡没有奶茶好喝吧？
Kā fēi méi yǒu nǎi chá hǎo hē ba?
Coffee is not as tasty as bubble tea, right?
小雨
可能吧。我走路走了二十分钟，有点儿累。
Kě néng ba. Wǒ zǒu lù zǒu le èr shí fēn zhōng, yǒu diǎnr lèi.
Maybe. I walked for twenty minutes and am a bit tired.

那我去买杯奶茶，你在这儿等一下。
Nà wǒ qù mǎi bēi nǎi chá, nǐ zài zhèr děng yí xià.
Then I will buy a cup of bubble tea. Wait here a moment.

Learning Note

`个子` describes a person's height, as in `他个子很高`. For drinks, say `一杯奶茶` or `一杯咖啡`.

A + 没有 + B + 形容词

In comparisons, `没有` means A is not as much as B in that quality.

这杯咖啡没有那杯奶茶好喝。
Zhè bēi kā fēi méi yǒu nà bēi nǎi chá hǎo hē.
This coffee is not as tasty as that milk tea.
今天没有昨天热。
Jīn tiān méi yǒu zuó tiān rè.
Today is not as hot as yesterday.

Pattern: `A + 离 + B + 远/近`

A + 离 + B + 远/近

Use `离` to describe the distance between A and B.

奶茶店离学校很近。
Nǎi chá diàn lí xué xiào hěn jìn.
The bubble tea shop is very close to the school.
现在离下课还有十分钟。
Xiàn zài lí xià kè hái yǒu shí fēn zhōng.
There are still ten minutes until class ends.

动词 + 了 + 时间长度

To say how long an action lasts, put the time duration after the verb.

我今天走路走了二十分钟。
Wǒ jīn tiān zǒu lù zǒu le èr shí fēn zhōng.
I walked for twenty minutes today.
他学习中文学了一年。
Tā xué xí zhōng wén xué le yì nián.
He has studied Chinese for one year.
