4

Pattern: `

Use this pattern to say that a person or thing exists somewhere. In this lesson, practice short sentences like `桌子上放着...`.

Zhuō zi shàng fàng zhe shuǐ guǒ.
There is fruit on the table.
Zhuō zi shàng fàng zhe yí gè bāo.

5

Pattern: `

`多` before an adjective often adds an exclamatory tone and shows a high degree.

Jīn tiān néng hé péng you yì qǐ chī fàn, duō gāo xìng a.
How happy it is to eat with friends today.

6

Pattern: `

A compound direction complement makes the direction clearer. With an object, you can say `

Qǐng nǐ ná chū shuǐ guǒ lái.
Please take out the fruit.
Tā cóng wài biān zǒu jìn lái le.
