My new neighbors are from the UK and want to visit this weekend.

他们来的话，就请他们尝尝中国茶吧。
Tā men lái de huà, jiù qǐng tā men cháng cháng Zhōngguó chá ba.
If they come, invite them to try Chinese tea.

Pattern: `...的话，就...`

condition + 的话，就 + result

`的话` makes a condition sound conversational, and `就` introduces the result.

你有时间的话，就来我家做客。
Nǐ yǒu shí jiān de huà, jiù lái wǒ jiā zuò kè.
If you have time, come visit my home.
他们喜欢茶的话，就多准备一点儿。
Tā men xǐ huan chá de huà, jiù duō zhǔn bèi yì diǎnr.
If they like tea, prepare a little more.

Pattern: `把` with Direction or State

把 + object + verb + complement

This `把` pattern shows that an action changes the object’s position or state.

我把饮料放进冰箱里。
Wǒ bǎ yǐn liào fàng jìn bīng xiāng lǐ.
I put the drinks into the fridge.
请把声音开小一点儿。
Qǐng bǎ shēng yīn kāi xiǎo yì diǎnr.
Please turn the volume down a little.

Pattern: `一边...一边...`

一边 + action，一边 + action

Use this pattern when two actions happen at the same time.

我们一边喝茶，一边聊天儿。
Wǒ men yì biān hē chá, yì biān liáotiānr.
We drink tea and chat at the same time.
他一边做饭，一边听音乐。
Tā yì biān zuò fàn, yì biān tīng yīn yuè.
He cooks while listening to music.
