Lesson 9 · 我明天上午在学校学习
Use `有 / 是` to say what exists in a place or what a place is, and put time before place for study plans.

Listen and Read
Start from a study plan for tomorrow morning, then practice `有 / 是` and time-place order.
Core Words
First learn to say what exists in a place and what a place is.
Pattern: `地点 + 有 + 人/物;地点/位置 + 是 + 地点/事物`
Start with the place to say what exists there or what that place is.
To say something exists somewhere, use `place + 有 + person/thing`. To say what a place is, use `place + 是 + person/place/thing`. The negative of `有` is `没有`.
Learning Note
One pattern says something exists; the other says what the place is.
After `有`, say the person or thing that exists in the place. After `是`, say what the place or position is. Separate these two patterns before practicing.
Quick Practice
Recognize the uses of `有` and `是`.
Choose the Chinese sentence with the correct meaning.
Quick Practice
Practice `place + 是 + place` on its own.
Choose the Chinese sentence with the correct meaning.
Core Words
These words help you say where you will study tomorrow morning.
Pattern: `主语 + 时间 + 在 + 地点 + 动作`
When both time and place appear, say the time first and then the place.
When Chinese says both when and where an action happens, it usually puts the time first, then `在 + place`, and finally the action.
Quick Practice
Practice the order `time + place + action`.
Choose the sentence that means `I read at home in the afternoon`.
Learning Note
Finally, read `有 / 是` and the time-place order smoothly.
After this lesson, remember two sentence types: what exists somewhere, and when and where someone does something. If you can say those, you have the main thread of this lesson.
